Summer is on its way!

One of our tutors came in the office today with sunglasses on and it got me thinking ... Summer is coming! - and that can only mean one thing.

Time to get sliky smooth for summer and get our skin prepped to be exposed and tanned - sensibly of course

So we all want the perfect skin, and now that summer is fast approaching we know that we need to do the thing we all dread and get our white bits out (within reason).

I wanted to put together some really simple solutions for dry skin that will also help reduce the appearance of cellulite and not cost a fortune. All it takes is a few simple steps

Brush it or scrub it just don’t soak it !!!

Everyone seems to want to exfoliate with wet skin stop!!!

You will get a much better exfoliation when the skin is dry. A great gentle cheap way to scrub the skin is a body brush.

Body brushes are a great inexpensive way to exfoiliate and can be purchased in lots of places for under £5.

Work in gentle circular, upward motions, then longer, smoother strokes.

Always begin at the ankles in upwards movements towards the heart.

It’s a great idea just to wet the body brush a tiny bit just so the brush feels a bit softer on the skin. This is great to reduce cellulite to as it improves the blood circulation and lymph circulation so it helps get rid of toxins in the body.

Time to look like your doing some miming and put on some exfoliating gloves.

Body mitts are a great way of exfoliating the skin but they are a little bit hard to use dry so put the gloves on your hands and wet down the fibers in the water.

Apply a small amount of oil to the palms of your hands.

Scrub your body using gentle, circular motions starting from your feet and working your way up to your shoulders.

Sweep over each area of your skin a few times with the mitt, but avoid scrubbing ferociously so that you don't aggravate the skin.

After you have scrubbed and exfoliated take a luke warm shower or bath and gently pat your skin dry with a towel.

Now, time to moisturise.

Its great to use a moisturiser that is not very thick so it soaks straight into the pores whilst they are still open from the heat of the shower or bath.

I love the Sanctuary Body Spray which is only £5.50 for a 150 ml bottle or Garnier Body Ultimate Beauty Oil Skin Perfector which is under £6 and can be found in most drug stores or supermarkets.

Simply spray onto the skin and rub in in upward strokes until you have covered your whole body avoiding the face. Try to do this twice a week to help your skin stayed silky smooth.

Where Do I buy ?

Body brushes and hand mitts can be purchased from ebay, superdrug and amazon its good to buy a body brush with a detachable handle just incase no one is at home to help you reach your back!

Sanctuary Body Spray can be purchased from boots or online from Sanctuary direct

Garnier Body Ultimate Beauty Oil Skin Perfector can be purchased from Supermarkets, Boots and Superdrug.
