Goodbye Contouring Hello Strobing

Even though countouring has been around for many years Kim Kardashian secured its recent rise in popularity. However, we can tell you something bigger and better is set to take over from contouring. Let us introduce you to Strobing.

So ... What is Strobing?

Basically, its a fun term for highlighting. Forget everything you've learnt about countouring, extra highlighlighting will give you a dewy, shimmery, more youthful glow.

Here's our step-by-step guide to Stobing so you can have a go yourselves.

  • Wash your face twice and apply a nourishing mask

  • Use a hydrating toner and moisturiser to prime your skin

  • Then start with an illuminating base or CC cream for a dewy effect

  • Hide any blemishes by blending concealer with moisturiser

  • Using a highlighting stick, cream or balm, dab the areas of your face that light naturally hits

  • Focus on tops of cheekbones, forehead, centre of the nose, browbone and Cupid's bow of the lip

  • Pat onto inner corner of the eyes for extra twinkle

  • Set your make-up with a fine powder

.

BB creams like Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue are also perfect for achieving flawless, dewy skin.

Avoid heavy matte textures with this look, as with contouring, instead it's all about moisture.

Avoid sparkle and go for shimmer.

'Highlight the areas that light naturally hits - tops of cheekbones, forehead, centre of the nose, browbone, Cupid's bow of the lip.
