Learn to Earn - Beauty Courses

Thinking about studying a Beauty course? Whether you're considering enrolling on an NVQ or signing up for a Diploma course, you need to read our handy guide on what you should look out for to make choosing the right course for you easy.

When we started our training school we wanted to make sure that as well as providing first class training from industry experts, that our training courses provided all the little extras, that people assume will be included in the price. At Essex Beauty Training School we don't charge additional fees for things like a printed certificate, or a manual, it's all in the price you pay.

You may have decided which courses you want to study and possibly made a short list of training providers to study with. Now before you decide where to study these are the things you need to know to make an informed decision.

Training Staff

Make sure that the staff who’ll be teaching you have at least three to five years clinical experience and ideally, though not essential, teaching qualifications. Teaching is a skill in itself.

Did you know that the essex beauty training school only employ tutors that successfully run there own business and specialize in the treatments that the teach for the school

  • Helen is not only a creative master technician but owned her own shop for over 10 years in Upminster in Essex

  • Natalie now runs a very successful mobile and hair business from home but before that natalie was a manager of a beauty branch in a well known chain of health club

  • Nancy has delivered NVQ’s levels 1,2 and 3 in a variety of government run and private academies whilst keeping a focus on maintaining good relationships with her past students and the highly regarded recruitment agencies. In just two years Nancy has helped place over 20 students in the beauty industry. Nancy has used her skills in a variety of high end salon spas and health clubs where she worked with a wide range of product houses including Elemis, Clairns, skinceuticals, ESPA and Guniot.

Student Numbers

Smaller classes are better. Make sure that there won’t be more than 12 students to a teacher.

Did you know the maximum number of students we generally have is 4 if there is more then four students we have two tutors delivering the course

Breadth of Knowledge

Find out what is covered in each module, for example how many different types of massage are covered. Anatomy and physiology needs to cover the skin, the skeletal/muscular system, the respiratory system, the nervous and endocrine systems as well as many common disorders of these systems.

We believe that knowledge is key and provide all our students with course manuals detailing everything that need to know about each treatment they are carrying out.

Supervised Practice

Look at opportunities for supervised clinical experience – how much practice will you get?

Did you know that we offer pamper events in the local community in order for students to practice their skills and organize work placements for students wishing to gain more experience within the beauty industry. We also offer open salon sessions for students to gain more practice.
